With its unique pearlescent luster, opal seems to generate its own light from within. Displaying a mesmerizing kaleidoscopic range of rainbow-like hues that dance and play across its surface, it is not surprising that the opal has long been believed to possess supernatural powers. As the birthstone for October, it's a stone that lives close to my heart with an October 9th birthday.
