I created this pendant while listening to the audiobook "Isola" by Allegra Goodman. In the story, based on historical events, a young noble-woman, Marguerite, heir to a vast fortune, is abandoned on an island off the coast of Canada by her guardian. Her circumstances shift from extreme privilege, to rugged survival, yet she is not safe in either reality. She learns to create a sense of safety for herself.
This pendant represents the journey of cultivating a sense of safety within, and befriending oneself on life's wild journey.
